REINING SYMPOSIUM

(Plantagenet May 31st – June 1st)

 

WITH JOSH LYONS

 

Before your eyes, Josh Lyons will:

·         take a young horse which has never been saddled, establish a mutually respectful relationship with it, and take it for its first few rides;

·         take a horse fearful of the trailer and make it comfortable with it;

·         demonstrate reining techniques that establish a strong foundation for future training; and

·         with his own splendid horses, demonstrate more and more advanced maneuvers which can be accomplished with a horse as it evolves in its training.

The symposium will be of interest to:

  • adults and children, who are impressed with the beauty, strength and agility of horses and would like to see close-up how an expert trains them…this is wonderful entertainment;
  • trainers, horse owners and riders wanting to learn more about safe and humane ways of starting a horse, dealing with its fears and making it progress, by turning it into a willing partner; and
  • participants from the three day Rider Clinic offered prior to the symposium.

 

Simultaneous translation to French will be available free of charge.  Professionals (nutritionist, massage therapist, etc.) and vendors will be on site and there will be numerous door prices.  Bring your picnic lunch or take advantage of the cash BBQ.

 

The symposium will take place on May 31st and June 1st, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, at Pine Haven Quarter Horses indoor arena, 524 Boundary Road, Plantagenet, Ontario, Canada, K0B 1L0.

 

$50 per day / $80 for the two days.  Half price for those under 15 / Free under 10.

 

This is part of three events taking place during Josh’s visit in the region (also Rider Clinic and Reining Demo and BBQ Supper).  All events are organized by France Vanier, certified trainer.

Sous vos yeux Josh Lyons va:

  • prendre un jeune cheval qui n’a jamais été sellé, établir avec lui une relation de respect mutuel et le monter;
  • amener un cheval qui a peur d’aller dans une remorque à s’y sentir confortable;
  • faire la démonstration de techniques de dressage qui établissent une base solide pour le futur; et
  • avec ses propres superbes chevaux, accomplir des manoeuvres de plus en plus avancées en fonction du niveau d’entrainement du cheval.

Le symposium s’adresse à différents publics:

  • adultes ou enfants qui admirent la beauté, la puissance et l’agileté des chevaux et qui aimeraient voir de près comment un expert s’y prend pour les entraîner…tout un spectacle;
  • entraineurs, propriétaires de chevaux et cavaliers désirant en savoir plus sur une manière toute en douceur de débourrer un cheval, de réagir à ses craintes et de le faire progresser en établissant une complicité avec lui; et
  • ceux qui auront participé à la clinique de cavalier des trois jours précédents.

 

LA TRADUCTION SIMULTANÉE EN FRANÇAIS SERA DISPONIBLE SANS FRAIS.  Des professionels (nutrition, massages, etc.) et des commerçants spécialisés seront aussi présents et il y aura des prix de présence.  Lunch BBQ disponible sur place. 

 

Le symposium se tiendra le 31 mai et le 1 juin 2008, de 9:00 hres à 5:00 hres, dans le manège intérieur du Pine Haven Quarter Horses, 524 Boundary Road, Plantagenet, Ontario, Canada, K0B 1L0.

 

$50 par jour / $80 pour les deux jours.  Moitié prix 11-15 ans / gratuit 10 ans et moins.

 

Ceci est l’une des trois activités qui se dérouleront à l’occasion de la visite de Josh dans la région (aussi clinique de cavalier et démo de reining et souper BBQ). France Vanier, elle-même un entraineur certifé, l’organise.
